Club Lacrosse Opportunities

Many families ask us about club lacrosse and whether it’s the right next step for their player. This page is designed to answer those questions and provide information on several club programs available throughout Connecticut.

What is Club Lacrosse?

Club lacrosse is designed for players who are looking to take the next step in their development by competing at a higher level outside of their town or school program. Club teams typically play during the summer, fall, and/or winter and compete in tournaments against teams from across Connecticut and the Northeast.

Club lacrosse generally includes:

  • More competitive practices and tournament play
  • Exposure to a wider variety of competition
  • Experienced coaching staffs
  • Additional opportunities for skill development

While many players choose to play club lacrosse, it is not required to become a successful high school or college player. The best choice depends on your player’s goals, commitment level, and family schedule.

SBYL does not endorse one club over another. Our goal is simply to provide families with information about programs located throughout Connecticut so you can find the best fit for your player.
